Note: India has eight main coffee growing regions,
all in the southern part of the country. Those with the highest elevations --
Baba Budan, Niligris, and Shevaroys -- produce the most admired specialty coffees.
We are pleased to have on hand this lovely MNEB, which is the
acronym for Mysore Nuggets Extra Bold, from the Baba Budan Hills, Chikmagalur
district, Karnataka State, Southern India--Mysore Plantation A. (bet you can't
say all that 3 times really fast!)
These Nuggets are mechanically wet-processed or "washed"
coffees and are grown under shade at elevations of approximately 3,800 feet.
They are produced from trees of variety S795, a complex contemporary hybrid.
Plantation A is the highest normal grade of wet-processed India coffee based
on bean size and absence of visual defects.
This
coffee is a premium that represents the very highest quality coffee from India.
The beans are very large, uniform blush green in color with a clean polished
appearance. In our cup, the coffee exhibits full (almost peanut buttery) aroma,
medium body, good acidity and a delicious, dreamy flavor. A hint of Indian spice
and perhaps some flowers in the nose, but rather unremarkable in the cup: simple,
straightforward, pleasingly sweet.
It is our belief that they
train these beans in the art of pleasure.... KamaSutra!
With
a funny name like "Mysore Nuggets" it is sure to spark great conversation.
Definitely on the "A" list of must haves for the bean collector! Especially
around the holidays.... fun!
Roast: Best between City+ to Full City+
